He has trained at the Royal National Hospital for rheumatic diseases at Bath & Royal Hampshire county hospital Winchester. He had his bone densitometry training at Andovar war memorial hospital. He has certification in bone densitometry from the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), Switzerland. EULAR (European League Against Rheumatism) Training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound at Oranjewoud in the Netherlands. Besides, he is a Life Member of Indian Rheumatology Association. He attends major international conferences like the ACR (American College of Rheumatology), USA, besides regular attendance at the Annual conference of the Indian Rheumatology Association.
Rheumatic diseases are collectively called "Vatharogam" in Malayalam colloquially. These diseases can affect the joints, muscles, and bones causing pain, swelling, stiffness, and deformity. They are a range of conditions and include, osteoarthritis (sandhi vatham), Rheumatoid arthritis (ama vatham), gout, psoriatic arthritis (arthritis in patients with the skin disease Psoriasis), Ankylosing spondylitis (inflammatory spine disease), fibromyalgia, connective tissue diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus, sjogrens syndrome, mixed connective tissue disease and scleroderma. Besides using Disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), the centre is capable of giving Biologics, many of which are coming as infusions and subcutaneous Injection.
